Fritten&Fax - Fax through the FRITZ!Box Copyright (C) 2026 Maik Krohm (Maikstrings). All rights reserved. SPDX-License-Identifier: LicenseRef-FrittenFax-Proprietary LICENCE TERMS FOR FRITTEN&FAX (FREE, PRO AND BUSINESS) Version of 02.11.2026 1. Subject matter Fritten&Fax (the "Software") is protected by copyright. All rights in the Software belong to Maik Krohm (Maikstrings), hereinafter the "Licensor". The Software is proprietary and not open-source software. 2. Editions The Software is available in the editions Free, Pro and Business, for Windows (Fritten&Fax for Windows) and for Android (Fritten&Fax for Android). The features of each edition are described on the download page https://frittenfax.maikstrings.de/. Pro and Business are unlocked with a licence key; the same key applies to both platforms. 3. Right of use a) Free: the Licensor grants a simple, non-transferable right, free of charge, to install and use the Software for one's own purposes. b) Pro and Business: by acquiring a licence key the customer receives a simple, perpetual right to use the Software within the scope of the licence key (edition, number of users, period of feature updates). A user is a natural person; the licence for one user covers their computers and their phones (Fritten&Fax for Windows and Fritten&Fax for Android). Pro and Business are sold to businesses only (entrepreneurs within the meaning of section 14 of the German Civil Code, BGB). A "Pro for this phone only" bought in an app store covers only the devices of that store account and not computers; the terms of the store apply in addition. c) Trial keys are valid only until the date stated in them and are not transferable. d) A licence key that has been published, misused or refunded after a reversal may be blocked (block list on the download page); the Software then continues to run as Free. 4. Not permitted, transfer a) Unless mandatorily permitted by law (in particular sections 69d and 69e of the German Copyright Act, UrhG), it is not permitted to modify, decompile or disassemble the Software, to circumvent licence checks, to publish licence keys, or to rent the Software or make it available to third parties for use. b) The customer may transfer a purchased licence for Pro or Business as a whole to a third party. The customer must then give up use completely, remove the key from all installations and inform the Licensor in text form of the name of the acquirer and the licence number. The acquirer takes over these terms. It is not permitted to split a licence for several users or to pass on individual workstations only. c) Passing on the unmodified Free setup is permitted. 5. Third-party software The Software contains third-party components that are subject to their own licences (overview: file LIZENZEN.txt, licence texts: folder Lizenzen). Only their licences apply to these components; these terms do not restrict the rights under them. For libraries under the GNU Lesser General Public License (e.g. spandsp) it is in particular permitted to replace the library with a modified version and to decompile the Software for debugging such modifications. Programs supplied as stand-alone programs under the GNU General Public License (e.g. capi-bruecke.exe, if included) are subject to that licence alone. 6. Security updates, warranty and liability a) The Licensor provides security updates free of charge for every purchased licence for five years from purchase (support period), also after the end of the period for feature updates; for Free and trial keys via the current version in each case. Please report security vulnerabilities as described in SECURITY.md or on the download page. b) Pro and Business: warranty and liability are governed by the contract with the customer, in particular the Licensor's general terms and conditions. c) Free and trial keys are provided free of charge. For them the Licensor is liable only for intent and gross negligence and for defects fraudulently concealed. d) In any case, liability for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act and under a guarantee remains unaffected. 7. Data protection The Software processes faxes, contacts and settings only on the customer's computer or phone; the Licensor receives none of them. The daily check for new versions (Windows) retrieves the download page and only sends the version number, the edition and whether the Software runs on a terminal server - no identifier of the computer or user. With a licence key entered, the Software retrieves the block list from the download page at most once a day, without an identifier and without licence data. Business counts users only on the customer's computer (hash of the Windows user ID, no names). Details: privacy policy on the download page. 8. Final provisions a) German law applies to the exclusion of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. b) If the customer is a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction is the Licensor's place of business. c) Should a provision be invalid, the remaining provisions remain valid; the statutory provision takes its place. d) Contact: Maik Krohm (Maikstrings), address and e-mail in the legal notice of the download page https://frittenfax.maikstrings.de/.
